Citing in this Chapter Two what had been said by ETTY HILLESUM, “devo continuare ad essere all’ ascolto di me stessa”, we launched our little inquiries.

For our dear YOUNG PEOPLE:

As you discover little by little the “ world ” where you exist (yourself, family, friends or any significant others, experiences and even the world itself ) what comes into your mind?
Does it make you wonder of a truth and purpose it has beyond it or nothing at all?
What is, at this moment in your life you’re in search of?

Again, here comes another story of our “story-teller priest”. In one of his retreats, one boy said; “I don’t believe in God, because if there’s God how could He permit the many unfortunate things that is happening in my family and life?”

Well, it may seem classical but could this boy be blamed for this thought?

A fourth-year high school student, had experienced the presence of God in the magnificent beauty of silence that envelopes the mountainous area of green trees, fresh air breeze, chirping of the birds and the wide horizon of what can be reached and grasped by his senses that had recollected himself to his Creator. And when he was asked about what had happened during his prayer, he said; “ I couldn’t describe it ……” but in his expression is the peace and joy for that graced experience.

This is how he listened to himself…. in silence and disposal of himself to the One he knows out there yet present.

For our dear PARENTS and EDUCATORS:

How can we be of help to our young people who are in their journey to human maturity and search of Truth?
